If you refer someone to OVO, you’ll each get $120 credit paid over 12 months.
Note: If you or someone you referred signed up via our Refer A Friend offer before 1st July 2023, you will have received either $75, $120 or $190 credit paid over 12 months. All other elements are the same.
Are there any restrictions on how many people I can refer?
There are no restrictions with regards to the number of referrals you want to make. Each one will get you an additional $120 credit, so refer away!
How do I access the Refer a Friend promotion?
You must be an existing OVO Energy customer, with access to MyOVO. If you've not already registered for MyOVO, it's really easy to do - just go to my.ovoenergy.com.au and register now.
You'll need your unique URL which can be access via my.ovoenergy.com.au/referAFriend - this is just to make sure that your $120 credit is appropriately tagged to your account.
You then just need to continue to be an OVO customer for 12 months, to get the full credit. Simple.

What does my Friend need to do to access the offer?
All they need to do is follow your link, and sign up to one of our energy plans.
They'll need to live in a property in either New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria or Queensland, and will need to also be on a tariff we can support.
The new contract with OVO must be their first electricity market contract for their premises.
They then just need to continue to be an OVO customer for 12 months, to get the full credit. Simple.
When will we pay the Refer a Friend Credit?
Unless the contract ends early, we will credit $120 (inclusive of GST) applied in twelve equal monthly instalments as an offset against the charges on each monthly bill issued during the minimum contract period.
If the contract ends before the end of the minimum contract period, we will not pay and the referral customer and referred customer will forfeit any remaining credit balance of the $120 Refer a Friend Credit.
Are there any offer exclusions I should be aware of?
The Refer a Friend Credit is only available on OVO Energy Plans.
A new referred customer receiving a Refer a Friend Credit is not eligible for any other credits such as the welcome credit that may be available.
You can only be use it as a discount off your OVO Energy account and cannot be refunded or redeemed for cash.
It is not transferable to any other customer or to any other premises, unless you're moving property and retaining OVO as your retailer.
